A Review

Today, beauty and perfection is no longer exclusive to women. Having a clear skin is now a "must" no matter who,what, or where you are. In recent years, the "Macho Ideal" has given way to a booming male beauty market as men embrace "Metrosexuality." Nonetheless, men and women should take extra care of themselves because the body is composed of 80-90% skin. :)

In a tropical country like Philippines, having an oily and acne prone skin (like me) has always been an issue, as they say ,"Oiliness is next to ugliness." haha! Having an oily skin may not always be bad because it serves as a barrier against bacteria, dirt and other microorganisms which may cause pimples, acne or other imperfections. But looking "masebo" or someone saying "Punasan mo nga yang ilong mo" or worse, "Pwede na pagprituhan yang noo mo" is not a nice thing to hear right? So it's always nice to always keep things in control. :)

There are some products that you might want to try,which is available in local drugstores. There's this product which I have been using for almost two years now, to control oiliness over my nose and forehead. And it's a skin-saver! It's the Celeteque Acne Clearing Facial Moisturizer Gel (with Acnacidol BG).

I. The Science behind it:

Before I purchased this product, I actually took time to research about it. What's really good about it is that the product is backed-up by clinical tests and trials. Upon hours of researching this product, Acnacidol, which is one of the main content of the product is a sebum/ oil regulator and has a anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, which subsequently, reduces the formation and appearance of acne. Well that's the reason why it always does its magic!

II. A walk-through.

Let me give you a bird's eye-view on what this product looks and feels like:

THE LOOK:

Its quite light and handy, most especially when you love travelling and you're the type of person who do not want to carry large product containers inside your bag. When I first purchased it, I got so excited that when I first opened the cap/ cover, the contents came pouring all over my hands, maybe because of the pressure inside the container. So whenever I open or use it, I take time tap it upside down before opening the cover to prevent over spillage of the content.

THE FEEL: The content is a clear, semi-fluid gel resembling a hand sanitizer.

I usually use that amount to cover my whole face. "A little amount goes a long way." Upon application, it will initially give your skin this cooling effect which I always love. What I really like about this product is that it doesn't give you that "sticky" feeling a few seconds or so after applying it. Rather, it gives you this matte and smooth feel in your skin.

This what it actually looks like few seconds after applying it. I usually don't rub it in my face, I just dub it slowly allowing my face to absorb it quickly.

III. THE THOUGHT

After almost 2 years of using it, I should say that this product doesn't fail to show its magic. But that doesn't mean that it will provide you that matte-fresh looking face all day. Even Cinderella knows that she needs to go home by 12 midnight. Every person has a unique and different skin dynamics, so just like any other products, its efficacy wears off as time goes by. Based from my experience, after spending 3-5 hours at work, I can see my face starting to oil up, well if you're the type of person who is more active and who loves to be outdoor, expect that the it tends to have shorter efficacy. On a day to day basis, I can see a difference whenever I don't use it when I'm only at home. I tend to look "oilier" and would often pat my face with tissue.

The last time I checked its price, its Php335.00. Its quite pricey for a 5oml product. But I guess its a product worthy of its price if you are to ask me. Its not a product made out of nothing, its a product made out of science. I have been using it for almost 2 years and it's indeed a skin-saver! I would totally recommend this product to all who are willing to invest on feeling good and looking good!
